To mark the Christmas and New Year festivities, the First Vice Prime Minister of the Government and Minister for the Interior and Local Corporations, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, has issued an ministerial order to regulate specific behaviour during the upcoming celebrations.
The order contains twelve articles. The first refers to the prohibition on the transit of motor vehicles throughout national territory from 24th December at 12:00 to 6:00 on the morning of Tuesday 26th , and from 31st at 24:00 to 6:00 on the morning of Tuesday 2nd January.
The second article refers to the prohibition on breaking bottles and throwing bangers in public places and in churches.
In addition to official vehicles for senior figures, those taxis that obtain the corresponding authorisation will be able to use the roads because, according to article 7, no unauthorised taxi will be able to drive around. These authorisations can be obtained free of charge from the General Directorate for Traffic in Malabo, and in the Regional Delegation in Bata.
Clemente Engonga Onguene signed the order on 15th of this month, and appealed to everyone to respect the rules.
