New Ambassador to Burundi presents credentials before President Nkurunziza

On 26th March, Samuel Ateba Owono Iyanga presented his credentials as new Equatorial Guinea Ambassador to Burundi, in the presence of the President of the Republic, H. E. Pierre Nkurunziza. The ceremony took place at the presidential palace.

A total of four diplomats presented their credentials as new Ambassadors in the city of Bujumbura, the capital of the country. On arrival, the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador was complimented by the head of State protocol, Zephirin Maniratunga, after hearing the national anthems.

The new Ambassador inspected the military corps at the ceremony.

Ateba Owono was officially presented to the Burundi President as the new Ambassador, and the two had their first conversations to strengthen diplomatic relations between Malabo and Bujumbura.

The Burundi President wished the new Ambassador great success, and assured him that his Government would provide him with full support in carrying out his duties.

The Equatoguinean Ambassador signed the visitors’ book and was dismissed with military honours.
