On Friday 26th April at the Palace of Conferences in Sipopo, the Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, oversaw the closing ceremony for the meetings in the technical phase of the III National Economic Conference (NEC).
During the ceremony, motions of gratitude were heard from representatives of the Korean Development Institute, the World bank, the United Nations System, the Private Sector, Civic Society and the National Parliament, together with the report on the final act of the work carried out between 22nd and 26th of April.
Obama Asue, at the start of his speech, praised and welcomed the role played during the sessions,
“I wish to once again thank you all for your presence, and the time dedicated to the work which has taken place over this week. Everyone has actively participated in these technical sessions, and I can assure you that your mobilisation and commitment has been appreciated and valued”.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that the resulting conclusions from these technical meetings will play a key role during decision-making at the political meetings that will take place from 2nd to 4th May, and pointed out that, “We can say that the wealth of documentation resulting from our work, both in quantity and quality, will facilitate the debates of the next phase of this III National Conference”.
In addition, he stated that the structural transformation of our economy could be achieved, above all, thanks to the effort and capabilities of all Equatoguineans, “We are conscious that we are at a moment in which action and a dynamic of perfecting our economic and social development must be paramount, in order to achieve the emergence of our country and the well-being of our valiant people”.
