After the grand popular parade which took place on the Promenade in Malabo, the presidential couple, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, went to the People’s Palace in Malabo, where they provided an official reception to the delegations attending the events marking the 50th Anniversary of Independence in our country, on 12th October. Among the guests were several presidents from countries with which Equatorial Guinea maintains close ties of friendship and cooperation.
During the reception the Head of State addressed those present, and thanked the illustrious guests for their presence during the events to mark fifty years.
One of the highlights of the banquet was the cutting of the cake in celebration of the accession of Equatorial Guinea to national independence. In addition, the reception was entertained by national and international artists.
With the celebration over, the Equatoguinean presidential couple bid farewell to their guests on the esplanade of the People’s Palace.
