On 4th December, Malabo, the capital of Equatorial Guinea, hosted the opening ceremony for the regional workshop at the official start of the project to support the creation of an organisation of cross-border basins (Ogooue, Ntem, Nyanga and Komo) and the preparation of investment projects (PACOBT – PPI).
The overall aim of the regional workshop was to begin a process of ownership that will allow the setting up of the optimum conditions for the successful implementation of the project, with the active participation of all interested parties. The aim is to establish a service framework for key national and regional players, recalling the objectives of the study, the methodology and the intervention procedures, on the one hand, and on the other, to begin the effective mobilisation of players, whether to gather data, of for the organisation of national surveys.
The opening ceremony, which was attended by representatives from the African Water Bank Group, the Economic Community of Central African States (CEEAC), and the Coordinator from the African Water Bank Unit, began with an opening speech from the representative from the Ministry for Fishing and Water Resources, Jeronimo Carlos Osa Osa, Secretary of State fro Fishing and Water Resources.
