On Friday 9th March, the Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China, Chen Guoyou, during his meeting with the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, praised the work carried out by the National Grants Coordination. In addition, the General Secretary received in audience the Ambassador from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Ton Chol Ho.
During the audience, the Chinese diplomat Chen Guoyou, welcomed the initiative from the National Grants Coordination to hold an exam to select 80 students, who will then have to pass a further selection test at the People’s Republic of China Embassy in Malabo, in order to obtain one of the 35 grants that the Asian country offers each year.
In addition, they spoke about the visit that a delegation from the PDGE National Office plans to make to China, at the invitation of the Communist Party of China, (CPC), from 19th to 28th March, dates which coincide with the Consultancy Assembly of the Chinese People and the X CPC Congress.
The PDGE General Secretary welcomed with satisfaction the praise from the Ambassador, and said that this attitude is part of the instructions from the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, to select the student respecting the criteria of gender equality.
Osa Osa Ecoro, after hearing details about the visit by the PDGE delegation to the People’s Republic of China, informed the Ambassador that due to his schedule, he would not be able to travel to the People’s Republic of China, and that his Deputy, Jesusa Obono Engono, would travel in his place and lead the delegation, accompanied by various departmental heads and directors from the PDGE specialist women’s organisation.
For his part, at the meeting held with the Ambassador from the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Ton Chol Ho, they spoke about matters regarding cooperation between the two countries. The Ambassador also reported to the General Secretary on the evolution of the Korean peninsula, pointing out the actions they are taking in order to bring the two Koreas together and restore the climate of peace.
Osa Osa Ecoro praised enormously the initiative of dialogue, and indicated that only through that can peace be achieves, both on the Korean peninsula and in the world in general.
