On Wednesday 30th October, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, accompanied by his deputy, held audiences with the Ambassador from the Republic of Congo, Martine Renee Galloy, and the Ambassador from Germany, Ralph Timmermann, at the headquarters of the PDGE National Office in Malabo.
With the Congolese diplomat, Osa Osa Ecoro spoke about the ties of friendship and cooperation uniting the peoples and Governments of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the Republic of Congo, as a consequence of the understanding and mutual respect between their Heads of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and H. E. Dennis Sassou Ngueso, who work in favour of the development and well-being of their countries and peoples.
Furthermore, the two agreed to strengthen the links through the participation by a senior PDGE delegation at the V Ordinary Congress of the Congolese Party of Labour, at the invitation of Pierre Ngolo, PCT General Secretary, and an invitation to the PDGE Deputy General Secretary to visit Brazzaville for seminars to exchange experiences with the PCT specialist women’s structures.
The second audience held by the PDGE General Secretary was with the German Ambassador, Ralph Timmermann, who following the presentation of his credentials as German Ambassador before the Malabo Government, was presented with the PDGE statutes and internal regulations, which contain the functioning of the party, and the powers and attributions of all its structures.
In addition, Osa Osa Ecoro explained to his interlocutor that the Head of State, through the creation of the Great Mass Movement, pulled the country out of the political abyss in which it had been engulfed in the 11 years following independence, with the suppression of all freedoms and the persecution of anyone who was not allied to the first Government. For that reason, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has been the guarantor and architect of peace, social cohesion and the enviable development enjoyed in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
In conversation with the German diplomat, the PDGE General Secretary asked for the collaboration of Timmermann so that he could take to his Government and friendly countries the logical concern of the Government of Equatorial Guinea regarding certain defamatory campaigns against our country.
Within the framework of the excellent relations uniting Germany and Equatorial Guinea, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro asked his interlocutor to begin the process that could promote links of friendship and cooperation between the PDGE and the Christian Democratic Union of Germany, CDU, with the two affiliated to the Centrist Democrat International (CDI), and of which the PDGE will be a full member in 2020.
