On the morning of 4th September, the Vice-President of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, in her capacity as National President of the PDGE Women’s Organisation, went to the National Office in Bata, to hold a first meeting with women from this political constituency, and encourage them and propose new horizons which will improve the functioning of this party structure.
During the meeting, which lasted sixty minutes, Mangue de Obiang praised the women of Bata for their significant participation in the events which marked the VI PDGE Ordinary Congress at the beginning of July.
With respect to the upcoming general, legislative, municipal and senate elections, the Vice-President indicated that the participation of women must be visible, taking into account that in 2017 the UN celebrated International Women’s Day with the prediction that by 2030 female participation will be equal to that of men.
The promoter of empowerment of the Equatoguinean woman reiterated the desire that in the future the presence of women would be more representative in the strata of our country.
These declarations were received with an ovation from those present, who see in Mangue de Obiang a figure capable of boosting the trajectory of female emancipation in Equatorial Guinea.
The Deputy General Secretary of the PDGE; Jesusa Obono Engono Nchama, among other figures, assisted the First Lady at this meeting, the first to be held following her appointment as Vice-President of the party founded and led by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo for 31 years.
