The national team held a pre-match preparation of three days in the city of Madrid, before the two friendly matches to be played next against Egypt in Cairo on Thursday, March 26, and on the 29th, at the Félix Opue Boigne Stadium of Abidjan, against Ivory Coast.
During its stay in the capital of Spain, the National Nzalang has been training at the Ciudad Deportiva of Real Madrid in Valdebebas, a courtesy by the current European Champion, which has selflessly allowed the national team to train in its facilities.
Ruben Belima, player of the Real Madrid Castilla, was the host of his Nzalang colleagues on site where he usually works under the direction of Zinedine Zidane.
Esteban Becker, for these two friendly matches, has maintained the block that provided such good results in the last African Cup of Nations, and added to the team young James Anthony Davis, Jose Antonio Miranda Boacho and Miguel Angel Nzang, who will fight for a place on the team.
The Equatorial Guinean delegation is headed by the president of the FEGUIFUT (Equatorial Guinean Football Federation), Andres Jorge Mbomio; the second vice president, Teodomiro Nze Mengue and the General Youth Director, Judith Asangono Micha. The delegation also includes Juvenal Edjogo Ewono, the great captain who left the team after the last CAN 2015, who debuted his new role as coordinator of the Nzalang.
The atmosphere among the players continues being excellent and all are excited to face these new challenges of the two strongest teams in Africa: the new Egypt of Hector Cuper and the Elephants of Ivory Coast, champions of the continent.
