With only three weeks to go before celebration half a century on 25th June, the Vice-President of the Republic, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, called a joint audience in the People’s Palace in Malabo on 13th June, for important public and political figures in the country.
H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue met the Culture Minister, the General Secretary of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE) and the National Coordinator from the Sons of Obiang Association, so that, in a joint manner, the figures could look at the possibility of a special, unique celebration of his fiftieth birthday throughout the country.
After the meeting, the PDGE General Secretary, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, invited the population, and in particular the group of grassroots structures making up the party, to celebrate with joy the Fiftieth Birthday of the Vice-President of the Republic.
It is not every day one has a fiftieth birthday”, said Jeronimo Osa Osa, to the local press.
The meeting consisted in the creation of a programme full of activities to mark the occasion. In addition, Osa Osa Ecoro added that they had created commissions which were going to work so that this time there would be a different type of celebration, which would bring together the entire population of Equatorial Guinea, youth and PDGE militants in particular, with the aim of enjoying the celebrations of the fiftieth birthday of the Vice-President.
Previously, the date had been celebrated in the two main cities in the country. This year, it is expected that through the necessary strategies the entire Equatoguinean population will be involved in the euphoric celebrations on 25th June.
