The accredited Republic of Equatorial Guinea Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the State of Israel, Luciano Nkogo Ndong Ayecaba, presented on the morning of Wednesday 7th August his Credentials before the President of the State of Israel, H. E. Reuven Rivlin, in order to improve and extend the international relations of our country.
Equatorial Guinea is set on extending its outward-looking diplomacy, based on the recognition of the principles of International Law, support for peace and international security, fly the flag of South-South cooperation and the defence of its legitimate interests, in international spheres.
The solemn ceremony took place at the official Residence of the President of Israel in Jerusalem, Beit HaNassi, accompanied by the wife of the African Ambassador and senior figures from the Israeli Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Luciano Ncogo Ndong Ayecaba, doctor in Economic Science, is the first resident Ambassador from Equatorial Guinea in the Holy Land, following the decision of the Head of State to open a resident diplomatic mission in Israel, in order to strengthen relations between the two nations, peoples and Governments, and to promote common interests for mutual benefit.
The Equatoguinean Ambassador expressed the satisfaction of H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on the acceptance by the Israeli Government to begin diplomatic activities in this part of the Middle East; declaring the desire of the Malabo Government to develop cooperation in sectors of mutual interest; above all in agriculture, technical cooperation, drinking water and advanced technologies.
The presentation of Credentials was followed by a reception offered by the Equatoguinean Ambassador, in a historic hotel in the centre of Jerusalem, to celebrate the official start of his mission in Israel.
