The presentation of executive offices took place at the headquarters of the Upper Chamber of National Parliament, on 10th February. These were the new Senate executives recently appointed by the Presidency of the >Republic via Decree number 0025/2020, of 4th February.
They included the new Deputy General Secretary, JesA�s Obama Nzang, the Director General for Protocol and Ceremonies, Jovino Ona Nsue Abegue, and also for Legal and Legislative Affairs and Interparliamentary Relations, Daniel Ondjaga Nzang, which took over the posts held by Domingo Nguema Edu, Simeon Edjang Mengue and Enrique Ramon Eseng Mansogo. The latter was appointed new Senate Chief Counsel, while Maria del Carmen Mbela Eyang is occupying the post of Director General for the Office of the President and Jaime Alfonso Seriche Buika starts as Deputy Director General for Protocol and Ceremonies, whose presentation of office meeting was overseen by the President, Teresa Efua Asangono, accompanied by the Second Vice President, Agustin Nze Nfumu.
For his part, and in the name of and representing the outgoing directors, Domingo Nguema Edu, Outgoing Deputy General Secretary, thanked the President of the Republic and the President of the Senate for the trust placed in them, while praising the unconditional support received from the General Secretary of the institution, Victorino Nka Obiang.
The incoming senior Senate officials, through the Deputy General Secretary, JesA�s Obama Nzang, in addition to expressing thanks for the trust placed in them, also made clear their firm desire to continue the work carried out by their predecessors in order to consolidate the teamwork.
The meeting allowed Teresa Efua Asangono to point out to the outgoing directors that the changes should be interpreted as continuous renewal, a strategy to improve the management of the institution. These recommendations were seconded by Nka Obiang, who also told those present that they would hold periodical meetings in order to put together the statute for personnel and the procedural manual.
After the presentation of offices, the Senate plenary session, under the presidency of Teresa Efua Asangono, accompanied by the Second Vice President, Agustin Nze Nfumu, and the first spokesperson from the Table, Atanasio Ela Ntugu Nsa, held an information session on specific activities that the Upper Chamber intends to take in the near future.
