Various member countries of the United Nations congratulated the republic of Equatorial Guinea on 4th February, on assuming the presidency of the United Nations peace and Security Council.
This was the common denominator for the separate courtesy meetings that H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo held with senior figures in one of the installations of the UN Security Council. The figures were the Minister for Foreign Affairs, from Ivory Coast, the accredited Ambassador from the People’s republic of China before the United Nations, the Minister for Foreign Affairs from the republic of Gabon, and the Vice-Minister for Foreign Relations from Nicaragua.
In the presence of the First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, the Minister of State to the Presidency, Charged with Missions, Alejandro Evuna Owono Asangono; the Foreign Affairs Minister, Simeon Oyono Esono, and the Equatorial Guinea Permanent Representative before the UN, Anatolio Ndong Mba, the audiences served to congratulate the Equatoguinean leader on assuming the presidency of the institution. Some of the representatives brought written messaged sent by the presidents of their countries.
