Various pan-African organisations from civic society throughout Europe are designing a new internatonal award which recognises the work of a Head of State on a global level, to be given the title of best President in the world.
The award, which will be sponsored by the NGO Silidaritynnm, but which will be supported by multiple non-profit pan-African associations and organisations from throughout Europe, will look specifically at the work of any Head of State in the world who has contributed to and for the development of Africa.
Last week the first planning meeting for the first gala took place in Brussels, attended by some of the associations that will organise, the ceremony. The meeting was attended by the Equatorial Guinea Ambassador in Brussels, Carmelo Nvono-Nca. For the first edition of the award, which will take place at the end of 2020, the associations making up the organising council put forward almost unanimously the President of Equatorial Guinea, H. E, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for his undisputed leadership role in Africa, and as one of the foremost promoters of the image of a united, collaborative Africa moving along the route of progress, cooperation and democracy.
