A senior delegation from the Republic of Cuba is currently in our country, led by the Vice-President of the Council of the Republic of Cuba, Mercedes Lopez Acea.
The delegation was received on 8th February by the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, at the People’s Palace in Malabo.
The main aim of the meeting, which took place in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono, and the ambassadors from Equatorial Guinea to Cuba and the Caribbean country in Malabo.
The two politicians also looked at diversification and the identification of other aspects for cooperation between the two countries.
Mercedes Lopez Acea revealed that the tour she is making of several countries on the African continent is intended to pass on a message of gratitude to Governments and peoples who have supported Cuba in the struggle and resistance against the embargo lasting over 46 years which it suffered at the hands of the United States.
