President of Chamber of Deputies holds audience with Vice-President of Council from Cuba

The President of the Chamber of Deputies, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, granted an audience on Friday 9th February to the Vice-President of the Council of the Republic of Cuba, Mercedes Lopez Acea, who is in Equatorial Guinea within the framework of her tour of some African countries at the head of a delegation.

Mohaba Mesu told the Cuban visitor about the recognition of the Equatoguinean people of the support which Equatorial Guinea has received and continues to receive from Cuba, since difficult times, in social sectors such as Health and Education. Furthermore, Mercedes Lopez Acea also expressed recognition of the Cuban people for the support received from our country, in its fight against the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed on the Caribbean island.

In addition, the two praised the historic relations of friendship which have existed between Equatorial Guinea and Cuba for 45 years, and which continue to diversify in favour of the development of the two countries and their respective peoples.

The Vice-President of the Council of the Republic of Cuba passed on to Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu the greetings sent by the President of the National Assembly in her country, Esteban Lopez Hernandez, with the desire to continue to strengthen the relations between the two parliamentary institutions.

The audience was attended by the Second Vice-President of the Chamber of Deputies, Evangelina Filomena Oyo Ebule, the Second Member, Francisco Asumu Bikuy, the Second Secretary of the Table, Juan Fernando Nvara Engonga, the General Secretary of the Institution, Bienvenido Ekwaga, the accredited Equatorial Guinea Ambassador in Havana, Manuel Bibang Aseko, and the accredited Cuban Ambassador in Malabo, RaA�l Isasi Herrera.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-President of the Council of the Republic of Cuba signed the visitors’ book in the Chamber, while expressing the warmth of the Equatoguinean people and the desire to continue to strengthen the relations of cooperation between the two countries.
