President of Chamber of Deputies receives Chinese Ambassador

The relations of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and the People’s Republic of China were reviewed, on 21st August, in the Chamber of Deputies, during an audience that the President of the parliamentary institution, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, granted to the accredited Chinese Ambassador to our country, Chem Gouyou.

The Chinese diplomat first passed on greetings to Gaudencio Mohaba sent from the President of the People’s National Assembly in his country, and congratulations on his re-election as leader of the Chamber of Deputies, a democratic institution that is considered to play a huge role in the process of national development.

Chen Gouyou also reported to the President of the Chamber of Deputies on the meeting of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, which is soon to take place in Beijing. The meeting will serve to outline new opportunities for collaboration between the two sides, and will feature the participation of a senior delegation from our country.

The two figures also spoke about the need to strengthen relations between toe national assemblies from the two countries, and the Ambassador declared the willingness of the National Assembly in China to extend the ties of collaboration through mutual visits.

Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu received the report with satisfaction, and praised the diplomat for the work of the embassy on favour of strengthening cooperation between Malabo and Beijing.

The meeting, which took place in the presence of the Second Spokesperson of the Table, Francisco Asumu Bikuy, the General Secretary Bienvenido Ekwaga, and the Director General of the Cabinet, Caridad Moca, concluded with a presentation of institutional gifts to the visiting ambassador.
