President of Senate holds audience with Chinese ambassador

The President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Asangono, granted an audience on 2nd October to the Accredited Extraordinary Plenipotentiary Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China before the Government of Equatorial Guinea, Chen Guoyou, in order to look at matters related to future cooperation between the National Parliament and the People’s Assembly from the Asian country.

During the meeting, the President of the Senate and the Ambassador spoke about the need to set out relations of friendship and cooperation between the National People’s Assembly of the People’s Republic of China and the National Parliament.

Efua Asangono also asked about training programmes for human resources. They also covered the exchange of visits and experiences between the two legislative institutions, and future collaboration between her institution and the Chinese People’s Assembly.

For his part, the Asian diplomat confirmed that all projects will be covered, and will receive satisfactory responses during the upcoming visit that the Vice-President of the National People’s Assembly, Zhang Chunxian, will make to Equatorial Guinea within the framework of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of our national independence, for the promotion and strengthening of the exchange of relations of friendship, cooperation and governance between the two legislative institutions.

After exchanging impressions, the meeting concluded with the signing of the act reflecting the confirmation of computer material donated by the Chinese ambassador to the Senate, which will serve to contribute to the efficiency of the bureaucratic activities of the institution.
