The President of the Supreme Court of Justice, David Nguema Obiang, held a meeting on the afternoon of Friday 12th July with his Spanish counterpart, Carlos Lesmes Serrano.
The meeting between the two figures aimed to improve the functioning of the administration of justice in the country, and they focussed their attention on the training of jurisdictional personnel, the training of career judges, and the intensification of institutional contacts for cooperation between the two bodies.
During the meeting, David Nguema Obiang asked his Spanish counterpart, Carlos Lesmes Serrano, for institutional cooperation for the training and qualification of judicial secretaries, judges, magistrates and prosecutors.
Furthermore, the president of the Equatoguinean Supreme Court asked for sponsorship from the Spanish Supreme Court for the Equatorial Guinea Supreme Court of Justice to become a member of the Ibero-American Association of Supreme Courts at the Ibero-American summit of presidents of supreme courts and supreme tribunals of justice.
The President of the Equatorial Guinea Supreme Court of Justice was accompanied by the court magistrate, Eliseo Mangue Nvo, the General Secretary of the Judicial Power Higher Council, Andres Ondo Nzee, and the head of the accredited Equatoguinean diplomatic mission in Spain, who was represented by the adviser, Bernabe Ndong Mba.
