On Friday 18th October, the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, granted an audience to the Regional Director of the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA), Mohamed Moussa.
The meeting between the two senior figures, which took place at the People’s Palace in Malabo, occurred after Mohamed Moussa took part in the inauguration of the new passenger terminal at the General Obiang International Airport in Mongomeyen, and the large military and people’s parade organised to mark the 51st Anniversary of National Independence.
During the meeting, the ASECNA Regional Director presented the Head of State with some future projects for his institution, such as the single African airspace, and the tracking of aircraft via satellite. Before the press, he said that the second project was expected to be operating from 1st January, 2020.
H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for his part, advised Mohamed Moussa on the successful implementation of these projects, and his instructions were well received, according to his statement to the media.
Also present during the audience were the Minister for Civil Aviation and the ASECNA Representative in Equatorial Guinea, Leandro Mico and Ciriaco Ntutumu, respectively.
