Equatorial Guinea now has a new diplomatic headquarters in the city of Abuja (Nigeria), with the work being financed by the Government in Malabo.
The President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, during his working visit to Nigeria on 23rd January, oversaw the opening ceremony for the new diplomatic headquarters, in the presence of diplomats from friendly countries, representatives from the Holy See, together with civil and service personnel, and other guests.
The act included speeches from the director of the construction company, the representative of the Federal Government of Nigeria, words of gratitude from the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Agapito Mba Mokuy, and a speech from the Head of State.
After the religious blessing, the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon and the revelation of a commemorative plaque, the leader of the nation toured the interior of the two-part two-floor building with basement, containing the various offices that will house the administrative services.
