To consolidate the basis for collaboration between the Senate and the Attorney General’s Ministry was the backdrop to the first meeting which took place on 16th October, between the members of the Senate Table, led by the President, Teresa Efua Asangono, and the new Republic Attorney General . Anatolio Nzang Nguema Mangue.
The courtesy meeting which began with congratulations for the new Republic Attorney General, and best wishes in his position offered by the President of the Senate, Teresa Efua Ansangono and immediate colleagues, allowed the new attorney general, Anatolio Nzang Nguema Mangue to request close collaboration between the Senate and the Attorney general’s Office, charged with ensuring compliance with the law throughout national territory, and within State institutions, in order to guarantee the peace provided by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
During another moment in his address, in addition to expressing his admiration for the work carried out by the Senate since it was created in Equatorial Guinea, he asked the legislators, as representatives of society before the National Parliament, to raise awareness in the population regarding justice, while recognising the problems affecting the judicial sector.
In response, Efua Asangono, assisted by the first and second vice-presidents, A�ngel Serafin Seriche Dougan Malabo and Agustin Nze Nfumu, among other members of the Upper Chamber Table, praised the initiative of the Attorney General and declared the willingness of the institution to support the investigation of cases in defence of the State and society.
From our position as representatives of society, we will also provide legislative advice so that the Attorney Genera can put an end to impunity for alleged offenders”, declared the President.
