The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, was in the Republic of Zimbabwe on the afternoon of Thursday 24th May, at the invitation of his counterpart, H. E. Emerson Mnangangwa.
At exactly 13:00, Zimbabwe local time, the plane carrying the senior Equatoguinean delegation landed at Harare international airport, in the capital. The delegation is being led by H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, who was received by the Vice-President, H. E. Constantino Chiwenga.
The presentation of a bouquet of flowers and greetings for the Harare authorities formed part of the reception given to the Equatoguinean President.
This two-day State visit arose following the invitation that the new President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, H. E. Emerson Mnangangwa, issued to H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and is the first to take place since the presidential investiture on 24th November 2017.
The Equatoguinean Head of State was received in the Presidential Palace in Harare by his counterpart from Zimbabwe. In this first meeting, the two African leaders exchanged questions of bilateral interest related to the strengthening of the good relations of friendship and cooperation that exist between the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe.
The members of their delegations also held a working meeting to set up a series of agreements in various sectors, which was led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Simeon Oyono Esono.
