The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, opened the four new Gepetrol Services petrol stations, located on the Bata-Mongomo motorway, in Niefang, Ayantangan, AAisok and Mongomo, on Wednesday 5th December.
The ceremony, which took place at the Mongomo petrol station, was overseen by the Head of State and President of the Gepetrol Board of Directors, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
In the presence of various authorities, including the Vice-President of the National Council and the PDGE General Secretary, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, the ceremony began with words of welcome from the Mayor president of the Mongomo Town hall, followed by the technical report presented by a representative from the construction company. According to the report, work on the project began in January 2015, and was completed in September this year. The petrol stations are built on surface areas of 2,000 m�, and designed in accordance with international standards for environmental protection.
Both the director of Gepetrol Services and the Secretary fro Mines and Hydrocarbons, Santiago Mba Eneme, praised the Head of State for the support he always provides towards the smooth functioning of the services of the national company. They also declared that, with the opening of the new petrol stations, Equatoguinean jobs would be guaranteed.
H.E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, for his part, congratulated the Ministry for Mines for its policy of providing fuel supplies to the Equatoguinean population in all corners of the country, and thus reduce the pressure from foreign companies in the sector.
He also recommended that the directors of Gepetrol be faithful to their services, generating income that compensates for the investment made.
A priest’s blessing and the cutting of the ceremonial ribbon were the concluding moments of the ceremony.
