The Republic of Equatorial Guinea took part in the 32nd AU General Assembly, through an important delegation led by the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. The mission was granted various responsibilities; the fruits of the respect and appreciation of diplomatic policy for its authorities.
The 32nd Assembly concluded with the adoption of significant agreements, together with mechanisms to improve the functioning of the organisation.
On 12th February, the Equatoguinean delegation returned to the capital of the nation, and was received by the vice-President of the Republic, Charged with Defence and State Security, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, together with the Minister for national Defence, Alejandro Bacale, and State Security corps, in addition to advisers to the presidency of the Republic.
On 10th and 11th of this month, the AU celebrated in Addis Abeba the 32nd general Assembly, which focussed on the problem of refugees. The responsibility to lead the taking of measures and actions fell to the figure of H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
The AU, through the International Law Commission, also elected as one of its members an Equatoguinean lawyer, and H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo expressed his satisfaction at this when he appeared before the media at the presidential terminal at Malabo International Airport.
