President returns from Turkey

The President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has returned to Equatorial Guinea, following his second visit to Turkey in 2018, within the framework of the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation uniting the two countries.

After a 48-hour stay in Ankara, the Turkish capital, the delegation from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea that took part in the VI Ordinary Congress of the Justice and Development Party returned on the morning of 19th August. The Ceiba Intercontinental aircraft landed at Malabo International Airport, where President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and his entourage were received by members of the Government, led by the First Vice Prime Minister Charged with the Political sector and Democracy, and the Minister for the Interior and Local Corporations, Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, leaders of the departments of National Defence and State Security, and various presidential advisers.

Before the presidential press, the Head of State spoke about Guinea-Turkey relations at a diplomatic level.

He also expressed his admiration of Kofi Annan, former General Secretary of the United Nations, who passed away recently, for his outstanding work at the head of the greatest of world organisations.
