On Wednesday 15th may, more than 500 people from all over the country and beyond our borders, attended the Eucharistic celebration said by Matias Nze Okomo, parish priest of the Santiago Apostol Church in Akoakam Esangui, which was the requiem mass for the eternal rest of Antonio Mba Nguema Mikue, Minister of State to the Presidency of the Republic, Charged with Presidential Security.
The Eucharistic mass celebrated by various Catholic priests was attended by the presidential couple, friends and acquaintances who, from various parts of the country, had come to the city of Mongomo to accompany the family of Antonio Mba Nguema Mikue, who died on 6th May in South Africa, in these moments of sadness and pain.
In the homily which coincided with the feast of Saint Isidore the Labourer, the priest invited those present to be constant in their prayers and remain in the Lord Jesus Christ, because he is the life and understands the needs of each person.
In another moment during his preaching, the priest Nze Okomo indicated that the Captain General of the Armed Forces is with the Lord, because he was a good person in his passage through life.
With the requiem mass over, the brothers of the deceased offered a reception for all the national and foreign figures, friends and acquaintances who since 10th May have been in Mongomo to show solidarity with the family for this irreparable loss.
Representing the family, the Head of State, in addition to thanking all those present, highlighted the figure of his brother, I speak in the name of the family to thank you all for accompanying us and for helping us during these sad moments. Antonio Mba Nguema was a public person, who had dealings with a lot of people as a brother, we are grateful to all of you”.
This celebration shows the greatness of the person who was Antonio Mba Nguema, who was loved within Equatoguinean society.
