On Sunday 14th April the presidential couple attended Palm Sunday mass at Malabo Cathedral, said by Monsignor Juan Nsue Edjang, which began with a procession through 3 de agosto, Motuku Luba, Presidente Nasser and Annobon streets.
We are beginning the annual celebration of the passion of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ”, said the Archbishop of Malabo, Juan Nsue Edjang.
For the Archbishop of Malabo, the palms demonstrate the victory of Jesus and also serve to welcome Christ, who gave his life to save humanity.
Furthermore, the President of the Equatorial Guinea Episcopal Conference passed on to those present the message of the sin of God in which he commanded Christians to be watchful and pray in order not to give in to temptation.
At the mass, Monsignor Juan Nsue Edjang told those present that soon the refurbishment of Malabo Cathedral would begin, thanks to the economic support offered by the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, during the commemoration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of this mother church.
In January the Head of State made a donation of 2 thousand million Franco CFA for the refurbishment of the metropolitan cathedral of Malabo.
