Presidential couple attend tenth anniversary of death of Edith Bongo Ondimba

The President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, arrived in Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday 13th march, to attend the events planned to mark the tenth anniversary of the death of Edith Lucie Bongo Ondimba, who was the First Lady in Gabon.

At D’oyo airport, the Equatoguinean presidential couple were received by their counterparts from Congo Brazzaville, H. E. Dennis Sassou Nguesso and his wife, Antoinett.

Following the presentation of bouquets of flowers and greetings between members of the two delegations, the two African leaders, accompanied by their wives, exchanged their first impressions in one of the halls of honour in the presidential pavilion.

At the ceremony of events to mark the tenth anniversary of the former First Lady of the Republic of Gabon and daughter of the Congolese President, Sassou Nguesso, a thanksgiving mass in her memory is planned for 14th March, among other events.

The Equatoguinean presidential entourage is made up of senior figures accompanying the Head of State and the First Lady on the tour they are currently making of the entire country, including the PDGE General Secretary, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro and his Deputy, Jesusa Obono Engono, and the executives from the Antorcha Youth Federation and ASHO.
