The President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as the top worker in the nation, accompanied by the First Lady, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, attended the celebrations organised to mark Saint Joseph the Worker’s Day and International Labour Day.
The celebration took place with a thanksgiving mass said at Malabo Cathedral, by Father Felix Ndong.
In his words, the priest pointed out that the world of work is a human and Christian priority and so work must not be separated from its spiritual qualities, because man and woman enter into an alliance with God.
The mass was also attended by the presidents of constitutional bodies, various Government members, and the PGGE General Secretary, Jeronimo Osa Osa Ecoro, among others.
Some of the most moving moments of the Eucharistic celebration were the offertory by workers from carious companies, and the ovations for the presidential couple on the cathedral esplanade.
