On the afternoon of Sunday 4th June, an important delegation from the Kingdom of Swaziland, led by His Majesty, Mswati III, the King of Swaziland, arrived in Malabo, and the presidential couple went to the airport to receive the monarch and entourage as a mark of the good hospitality and welcome that Equatorial Guinea reserves for its visitors.
Following greetings for local authorities and presidents of constitutional bodies, and under stringent security measures, the military took part in the first part of the arrival, paying tribute to the two leaders with the corresponding military honours.
Members of the Government and the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea (PDGE), the diplomatic corps and presidential advisers were also present to welcome the entourage from the visiting country.
Furthermore, the Head of State and the First Lady also shook the hands of various authorities from the visiting delegation.
S. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, and His Majesty Mswati III exchanged their first impressions regarding this official visit. The monarch from Swaziland used the occasion to congratulate the people of Equatorial Guinea on their election as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and on the 75th birthday of the President, on Monday 5th June, in the city of Malabo.
