The Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, has decorated one of the veteran pilots from the presidential fleet, Jerome Joseph Bertrand, at a ceremony held on 24th June.
Through Presidential Decree number 43/2019, of 24th June, the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo awarded the medal of Knight of the Order of national Independence to the French pilot.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Ministers of State to the Presidency of the Republic, Alejandro Evuna Owono, and Leandro Mico, from Civil Aviation, and the Minister Charged with External Security, Juan Antonio Bibang Nchuchuma, in addition to vice-ministers, some secretaries of State, presidential advisers and chiefs from Civil Aviation.
The leader of the nation congratulated the honourable Jerome Joseph Bertrand for services to the nation over 21 years uninterrupted years free from mishaps.
The pilot expressed gratitude for the recognition, and stated that he would continue to collaborate in any way he could be useful for civil aviation in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
