On Thursday 20th September, the Secretary of State for Tourism, Catalina Asumu Martinez, accompanied by the General Managers in matters of tourism, reminded the owners of touristic establishments the need to comply with the present laws and regulations for the payment of annual rates in compliance with Law 77/2007 that regulates the opening and closing hours of touristic establishments. In first place, the Secretary of State reminded the owners of touristic establishments that the voluntary period for the payment of rates expired two months ago. However, she wanted to give a last call to all companies in the sector, in order for them to comply with what is stipulated in the tax rate law.
The next issue addressed concerned the main points in law 777/2007 that regulates opening and closing hours of touristic establishments, and during which Catalina Asumu gave a speech on the most important points of such law, by conveying the departments concern for the noise pollution that some establishments cause, and the reasons why neighbours continually complain to the Department of Culture, Tourism and Artesanal Promotion, reminding that a report shall be filed for those who breach what is stipulated in the present laws and regulations.
As a result of this, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Artesanal Promotion encourages all who want the proper development of the tourism sector to read the law in order to comply with all that is stipulated in such law.
