The funeral ceremony for JesA�s Engonga Ndong, who in life had held the positions of Regional Delegate for Education and Minister for Education, University teaching and Sport, among others, took place on the morning of 16th October in the city of Bata.
The Palace of Conferences in Ngolo was the place where posthumous homage was paid to the former member of the Government. With the coffin in the chapel of rest, family members, friends, colleagues and authorities of various categories paid their final respects to the deceased with wreaths and the reading of various messages of condolence.
The Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, personally representing the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, read the message of condolence presented by the Government; a message which recalled his fighting spirit and dedication to the education sector.
Sharing the irremediable pain of the family, friends and colleagues of the passing away of the deceased, Obama Asue called for his memory to remain present.
With the ceremony over, the funeral cortAge went to Bata Cathedral, where there was a requiem mass, after which the funeral cortAge set off for Bikugu Oyek (AAisok), the birthplace of the deceased.
