Prime Minister holds audience with Ambassador from People’s Republic of China

On Monday 29th October, the Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, received in his office at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Government, the Ambassador from the People’s Republic of China, Chen Guoyou.

The conversations during the audience focussed on issues such as the strengthening of relations of cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese diplomat congratulated the Government, through the Prime Minister, for the successful celebration of the 12th October, and for the hospitality shown to the Vice-President of the Permanent Committee of the Chinese People’s Assembly, Shang Chunxiang, during his stay in Malabo.

For his part, the Prime Minister declared that the wish of the Government was that relations between the People’s republic of China and Equatorial Guinea were further strengthened, and he also welcomed the gesture by China of sending a senior delegation to attend the events of the 50th Anniversary of national Independence, in a faithful reflection of the ties of friendship that unite the two countries and peoples.

During the course of this audience which was described as courtesy, they also spoke about the Third Summit of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, held in the month of September, which was attended by the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The meeting between Cheng Guoyou and Obama Asue took place in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simeon Oyono Esono.
