Prime Minister holds meeting at Ministry for Agriculture and Livestock

On Friday 26th January, the Prime Minister of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, met the directors from the Ministry for Agriculture and Livestock at the ministerial headquarters.

The aim of the meeting was to analyse and evaluate the report on activities corresponding to the latest period presented by the department, and to be brought up to date on progress during 2018.

For his part, the Primer Minister criticised certain aspects that were not carried out with due diligence in order to obtain suitable results. Furthermore, he pointed out the insufficiencies of the Institute for the Promotion of Agriculture in Equatorial Guinea (INPAGE) in encouraging farmers in their activities and improving national agricultural production.

INPAGE must work according to the reason for its creation: the promotion of agriculture, and for that reason the Prime Minister urged the directors at the ministry to promote greater growth in the sector through teamwork

Obama Asue also insisted on respect for the hierarchy, and emphasised the problem of corruption, referring to the low levels of income produced by the ministry.

Punctuality and presence in the workplace by officials was another of the matters raised at this coordination meeting.
