Prime Minister holds meeting at Ministry for Health

The Prime Minster of the Government, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, has held a meeting in the Ngolo International Conference Room in the city of Bata, with directors from the Ministry for Health and Social Welfare.

Health workers are not part of any political party, and do not work in hospitals to make money, but through vocation. They are humanitarian, and social action is their calling”, said the Prime Minister.

Francisco Pascual Obama Asue expressed his indignation at the collective in the presence of the head of Health, Salomon Nguema Owono, for the lack of professionalism seen recently in national health centres and hospitals.

Obama Asue reminded those present of the Government decision to treat without charge the under fives and pregnant women with problems associated with malaria and carriers of HIV, and pointed out their non-compliance with regulations regarding the care of these patients.

Due to the current health situation, the Prime Minister invited the entire collective to reflect on what good service means. Finally, during the Governing Board meeting, they sought solutions to the problems mentioned.
