The theme of the meeting, which took place at the Presidency of the Government, between the Prime Minister, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, and the journalist from Radio France International, Fabien Essiang, was to speak about the African Games that are to take place in 2019 and the county that will organise them.
The starting point for the journalist was to find out if Equatorial Guinea still expected to host the competitions, which bring together a total of twenty sporting disciplines, based on the proposal presented to Obama Asue in the month of April 2017, in the city of Djibloho, an offer to which the response was that the committee presented to the Government of our country details of the event, which did not occur, according to the words of the Prime Minister during the interview.
Obama Asue made it clear that to host a competition of this magnitude requires a great deal of preparation and time, as it involves twenty sporting disciplines, in addition to the various delegations from countries that will take part in the games.
The Cameroonian journalist Fabien Essiang spoke to TVGE reporters minutes after his meeting with the Administration Coordinator.
A possible candidate would be Ivory Coast, as the Minister for Sports in that country, in an interview with RFI, declared that they would assume the responsibility of organising the 2019 African Games.
