Prime Minister receives Ambassador from Republic of SAPound o Tome and Principe

On 16th March, the Prime Minister, Charged with Administrative Coordination, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, received in audience the Ambassador from the Republic of SAPound o Tome and Principe, A�ngela Da Costa Pinheiro.

The diplomat went to the Presidency of the Government to congratulate the Prime Minister of his reappointment, and look at matters regarding bilateral cooperation.

Da Costa Pinheiro reported to the Prime Minister on the creation of an association in Equatorial Guinea, and expressed the concern of many people from SAPound o Tome and Principe resident in our country illegally, while at the same time asked for reciprocity in the granting of visas and the regeneration of relations of friendship and cooperation in the tourism, maritime, business and airline sectors.

For his part, the Prime Minister recognised that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries are historic, and there is an excellent level of understanding, although the two Governments have to work harder to strengthen it.

With regards to commercial exchange, after pointing out that tourism forms part of economic diversification, he said that contact would be made with the related sectors.

During the meeting, which took place at the Presidency of the Government, in Malabo II, the Prime Minister was assisted by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Pedro Nguema Ndong.
