Following the heavy storms of the night of 29th March, the towns of Acurenam and Mongomo, the most affected, with the destruction of various houses and State properties, were visited on 3rd April by the Prime Minister of the Government, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, accompanied by the Minister for Town Planning, Reginaldo Asumu Mangue.
The storm did not lead to any loss of life, but various buildings and houses, some belonging to the State, lost their roofs, which led the Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, to visit the area to see the situation for himself.
Acurenam was the town which suffered the most damage, particularly to the buildings of the Government Delegation and the secondary education institute. Engineers from Public Works and Town Planning will arrive soon to evaluate the damage.
In the city of Mongomo, the Prime Minister passed on the same message of support to provincial and district authorities in the conference hall in Angong, where the meeting took place.
The Governor of Wele Nzas, in the name of the population of Mongomo, thanked the Government for their concern and speedy reaction following events.
