Proposed creation of a British cultural center in Equatorial Guinea

Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea in the UK, Mari-Cruz Evuna Andeme, received in audience on the morning of June 9 Professor Dave Cooper, Director of Business and Economic Development at the University of Chichester, who was accompanied by Jorge Gutic, Managing Director of the same institution.

The aim of this visit was to discuss the initiative of creating a British cultural center in Equatorial Guinea. The center in question would have the name “UK Bridge” and its objective would focus on providing educational, cultural and artistic programs from Great Britain and the English language. English language classes will also be imparted at all levels, starting in primary school; also including individualized learning for those who may be interested. The training will also include businessmen and academics, for improvement in English proficiency.

To establish programs and activities of the “UK Bridge” negotiations between the Embassy of Equatorial Guinea in the UK and the University of Chichester and British institutions and other partners participating in the effective implementation of this initiative have begun.
