On 8th October, under the presidency of the Head of State, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, there was a Council of Ministers, the second to be held in the capital of Litoral, Bata, since the Executive moved to the continental part of the country.
During the session, which took place at the Africa Palace in Bata, they covered a total of seven points. The meeting was attended by the Vice-President of the Republic, Charged with Defence and State Security, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue.
Following the adoption of the agenda, they continued with a reading and approval, in the event, of the minutes from the previous session, and the synthesis report from the Prime Minister, Francisco Pascual Obama Asue, followed by the official presentation, by the Ministry for Finance, the Economy and Planning, of the conclusions regarding the negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, whose officials made a recent visit to Equatorial Guinea.
The study and analysis of the draft law to establish mechanisms to strengthen the national banking system were also presented by the Ministry for Finance. Then there was a presentation of the official programme of events for 12th October, 2019, the 51st Anniversary of National Independence, by the Ministry for the Interior and Local Corporations.
These were the final matters for this council meeting, which concluded with the usual Any Other Business.
