Security prevents COALIPGE-orchestrated attack in Malabo and Bata

The aim of the plan, orchestrated by the so-called Coalition of Leaders of the Illegal Opposition of Equatorial Guinea, COALIPGE, was to spread terror in Malabo and Bata, through actions that would attract the attention of the international community and, according to them, make them heroes.

The idea, planned for the 29th of this month, was, on the one hand, to form a group of twenty individuals who would carry out the simultaneous detonation of four petrol stations, two in each of the country’s main cities. And on the other, to attack members of the Government in their homes in cold blood, with the Prime Minister being the perfect target. They also planned to attack some embassies in Equatorial Guinea,

Since the appearance of social media in Equatorial Guinea, there have been audio messages urging violence and illegal demonstrations in the country, and insults and slander against public figures, including the Head of State.

That is one of the areas where which COALIPGE takes part, with members acting under pseudonyms. As is the case of Angüe Anguan, nicknamed Émuan Nkoa-Nguema, in Spanish, son of Nkogo Nguema.

The constant plots to confuse national and international public opinion about the supposedly low standard of living of Equatoguineans have not succeeded. They have therefore united as a bloc with the aim of creating a bloodier alternative strategy to serve their own interests. In that sense, COALIPGE and its allies have gone further, with a deeper operation aimed at destabilising the country.

Eighteen months ago, Equatorial Guinea buried more than a hundred children who died in the 7M tragedy in Bata; a pain that the country is still struggling to overcome. It is surprising, however, that Equatoguineans themselves are consciously planning to shed more blood.

But this time it has backfired. Equatoguinean intelligence intercepted the plan to create widespread chaos in the country. that would not only bring tears to the eyes of compatriots, but also slow down the Government’s development and economic recovery programme. For now there have been arrests in Bata and Malabo, while the investigation remains ongoing.
