National Programme for the Fight Against Malaria invited journalists from the national media to a seminar, with the aim of spreading key messages to the population on the prevention and control of the illness.
The seminar took place at the meeting room in the Hotel Ibis in Malabo, where experts from the National Programme for the Fight Against Malaria, Malaria Control Project on the Island of Bioko, exchanged information on measures to prevent malaria.
They mentioned specific actions, such as having interviews and press releases on the prevention and control of malaria; strengthening understanding through the creation of educational messages to be spread through the media, obtaining information on progress in the development of the vaccine against malaria, and other knowledge on activities carried out in Equatorial Guinea about the Cervical Cancer Project.
A vaccine is being development in Equatorial Guinea against malaria, according to doctor Vicente Urbano Nsue during his presentation, and he mentioned the success of the first clinical trial carried out in Equatorial Guinea to evaluate the safety and tolerance of vaccine PfSPZ in 33 adults between the ages of 18 and 35.
