On April 10 took place at the Malabo Hilton Hotel a seminar on “General Policy Guidelines on Public Investment in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea”. Its objective was to enable Government departments in the use and management of the new form of public investment projects of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Public Investment.
The work of this seminar is part of the Agreement of the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea with the World Bank for Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Public Investment in Strengthening the Public Investment System and Monitoring of the National Plan 2020, signed on April 12, 2014.
The seminar was presented by the Minister of Communication of the ANGE 2020, Maria del Mar Bonkanka Tabares, leading to the comments of the Secretary of State for Treasury, Milagrosa Obono, and the presentation of Cesar Augusto Mba Abogo, Secretary of State for Monitoring of the “Equatorial Guinea Horizon 2020”, who spoke on “Priorities of the Horizon 2020 Plan and Instrumentation and Institutionalization of Public Investment Systems and Monitoring”; which then was followed by the presentation by Ms. Magdalena Ava Bosaka, National Project Coordinator on the draft “Ministerial Order Amending the General Policy Guidelines for Public Investment Established for the Preparation of the PIP.”
Subsequently, Mr. Alejandro Arregoces Castillo, resident Consultant of the World Bank, presented “The Investment Project Data Sheet as the Main Information Tool for Managing the Public Investment Cycle,” after giving the floor to Mr. Julio Abril Tabares, World Bank Resident Consultant who spoke of “Monitoring of Public Investment in the Context of the Priorities and Major Programs of the National Plan Horizon 2020.”
The seminar was closed by the Secretary of State for the Horizon 2020 program, who thanked the attendance of the representatives from the Sectoral Ministerial Departments, encouraging them to work in coordination with the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Public Investment, to align public investments with the objectives of the National Plan for Economic and Social Development (PNDES).
