The agreement signed last Tuesday, February 24, at the headquarters of the Chamber of Deputies in Malabo, including its president, Gaudencio Mohaba Mesu, and the Secretary General of the Interparliamemtary Union, Martin Chungong, provides for cooperation in technical assistance to improve management of human resources.
Following the suspension of collaboration in 2009 between the two institutions, the lower Chamber has requested the resumption of cooperation and, thanks to the signing of this new agreement, the Interparliamentary Union (IPU) will offer support for the Chamber of Deputies in technical assistance.
Speaking to reporters after signing the agreement, the Secretary General of the IPU, Martin Chungong, said that “our collaboration will know a new dynamism, with the functioning of the Bicameral Parliament and the relations between Parliament and the Government.”
