The First Political Secretary at the South African Embassy in Equatorial Guinea, Rosa Kgopotso John, together with staff from the legation, celebrated at the Embassy headquarters with a special event marking International Nelson Mandela Day.
Rosa Kgopotso mentioned the reasons for celebrating this day, and explained the good deeds and dedication of Nelson Mandela, who despite spending 27 years in jail, always showed that he knew how to love.
In this celebration, which took place at the headquarters of the South African Embassy, the First Political Secretary pointed out that in 2009, the United States took the decision to commemorate this day.
After a few words on the figure of Nelson Mandela, the officials got together to sing happy birthday to Nelson Mandela once again.
As it is a day for helping your neighbour, the personnel from the Embassy have offered to paint the Silvestre Siale Bileka School on 24th July, to thus continue with the work of the leader.
