Speech by Mayoress of Malabo at the Congress and Exhibition of African Petroleum

Maria Coloma Edjang Bengono welcomed all those present in the conference hall at the Palace of Conferences in Sipopo for attending the forum. In her speech she declared her satisfaction for the celebration on this large event.

The mayoress began her speech by pointing out that the city of Malabo felt privileged to hold this great congress, and expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, as the promoter of the forum.

She also said that the petroleum sector had led progress in Equatorial Guinea, but also pointed out that our country offers other growth sectors, such as agriculture.

She concluded her speech by asking the guests to visit the country in order to get to know its culture and successes.
