During the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, on Monday 24th September the President of the United States, Donald Trump, called a senior level meeting on Global Action on the Problem of Drugs, in which the Head of State and Government, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, accompanied by other political figures, took part together with other leaders present at the meeting.
To the call formulated by the North American leader on Global Action on the Problem of Drugs has now been signed by 124 countries, and new signatories to the plan are expected.
Today more than ever, the world must focus on the serious problem of drugs”, said the UN General Secretary, Antonio Guterres, who went on to state that “from the United Nations it can be seen that addiction and drug trafficking are not abstract issues, and action is needed as soon as possible, as the production of drugs is every day greater”.
With the meeting over, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo head a courtesy meeting with the United Nations General Secretary.
Following various exchanges of words and a group photo with Antonio Guterres, the President of the Republic signed the United Nations visitors’ book for 2018.
