The members recently appointed by decrees from the Presidency of the Republic were sworn in to their posts on Friday 9th February, at the People’s Palace in Malabo, before the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo. They included Juan Antonio Bibang Nchuchuma, appointed as Minister of the Presidency, Charged with Exterior Security, and the new Secretaries of State, appointed to the various ministerial departments of the State Civil Administration.
These Government members raised their hands before H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo at a ceremony which was attended by the Vice-President of the Republic, H. E. Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, Presidents of constitutional bodies, the Prime Minister and his collaborators, the PDGE Secretary, and advisers and ministers from the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the President of the Republic, with teamwork and adherence to the programme outlined by the executive, it will be possible to face the challenges that may be met in the respective sectors.
In addition, he pointed out that the new Government must work to improve the political image of the country, promote good relations with other States, boost the economic democracy, and fight against administrative corruption and delinquency, among other points mentioned by the Head of State in his reflections.
Furthermore, the Head of State also indicated that the new Government must work with vitality, understanding and solidarity, avoiding differences that ma hinder the successful management of the responsibilities with which they have been entrusted.
